Ashbury Care Home

01Ashbury Care Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care for up to twenty nine persons of either gender who are over 55 years of age and have mental disorders. Within the conditions of registration persons may also have learning difficulties.

Nursing care is not provided but assistance will be given to ensure service users entitlement to all NHS facilities and services.

 

Accommodation

The home provides twenty nine single bedrooms all of which have en-suite facilities. There are two spacious lounge/dining rooms on the ground floor overlooking the gardens.

 

Social Activities, Hobbies and Leisure Interests

In house activities are provided on a daily basis during the week. An activities co-ordinator attends for six hours each day Monday to Friday. The home shares the use of a mini bus and trips out to local places of interest are provided weekly. Karaoke sessions with dancing are held once and sometimes twice each week.

Service user's individual interests and hobbies will be taken into account and every effort made to assist in these wherever possible. Arrangements are made for service users to attend local colleges for courses appropriate to their needs and abilities. Staff are trained in supporting daily living skills and where service users are on a rehabilitation programme staff are able to facilitate this with good sucessful outcomes.

 

Monthly residents meetings are held and interested parties are actively encouraged to attend and participate in these. 

 

Ashbury Care Home is close to sea, has well maintained gardens, situated to local cafe's and shops and is on a major bus route.
